Cholera outbreak.... health professionals visits Kaduna South LG

In its continuous effort to enhance healthcare service delivery, the Kaduna South Local Government council has collaborated with the federal ministry of health and other relevant stakeholders. 

Leading a team of health professionals from the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC), Federal Ministry for Health, Federal Ministry for Water Resources, Kaduna state Ministry of Health as well as the representatives of Ministry for local government, Dr. Hadiza Temitope Alfred described the visit as necessary in order to curtail the spread of Cholera outbreaks and other related diseases.

Dr. Hadiza encouraged monitoring and  implementation of public health policies, prompt attention to any suspected case and water  sanitation. 

She added that reintroducing environmental sanitation is paramount so as to curb future recurrences of cholera outbreak and other related diseases.

In his response,  the Chairman, Kaduna South Local Government, Rayyan Hussain thanked the delegation for their concern and promised to give the needed support in tackling the outbreak.

The recent outbreak in the area has been contained following a rapid response from the health department and the environmental health worker as well as community volunteers.
