The Kaduna State Government has been urged to roll out palliative package for public servants, especially the Local Government workers to alleviate their plight caused by the current economic hardship.
President of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, Kaduna State Chapter, Comrade Rayanu Isyaku Turunku, gave the advice while addressing the newly elected Executives of the local government branches of NULGE in the twenty-three Local Government area of the State.
Comrade Rayanu noted that the current situation in the country calls for urgent and deliberate measures to liberate the workers and their families from the shackles of poverty.
The NULGE President condemned the recent attack in Kuriga village, Chikun Local Government area, where pupils were kidnapped, calling on the State Government and the security agencies to do all within their powers to ensure prompt rescue of the victims.
He congratulated the newly elected branch Executives of the Union, adding that their emergence through a peaceful and transparent process is a big success for the Union.
