Interior Minister charges Nigerian Correctional Service officers on disciplined.


Officers of the Nigerian Correctional Service have been urged to be disciplined, patriotic and diligent in discharging their duties despite the security challenges in the country.

Minister of interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, gave the charge during the passing out parade of the 30th Assistant Superintendents of Corrections (ASC) basic course at the Correctional Service Staff College, Barnawa, Kaduna.

The minister who was represented by the immediate past controller general of corrections, Alhaji Ahmed Ja’afaru, noted that the basic course had prepared the officers to discharge their responsibilities in line with the Nigerian Correctional Service Act, 2019.

He said their commitment would be required as the country had put in concerted efforts through the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu to address the challenges of insecurity bedeviling the country.

The minister assured that the ministry in conjunction with sister agencies would take measures to promote the welfare of officers and that of inmates across the nation’s custodial
