Members of civilian JTF, hunters fighting Boko Haram insurgents in Borno state receive 50 kg rice cash support.


Borno State governor, Professor Babagana Zulum, has disbursed N255,650,000 cash and 5,513 bags of 50kg of rice to members of the civilian JTF and hunters fighting Boko Haram insurgents alongside the security forces.

Zulum conducted the distribution at the Multipurpose Hall of the Government House in Maiduguri.

Over five thousand members of the civilian JTF and hunters operating within Maiduguri and Jere, comprising those on government payroll and the volunteers received the governor’s package.

Each of the 4,513 that receives monthly pay from the government was given 50kg bag of rice and N50,000 cash, while 1,000 volunteers each got 50kg bag of rice and N30,000 cash.

Zulum expressed gratitude to the volunteers for the sacrifices they have been making to ensure that peace is restored to the state.

The occasion was witnessed by the Secretary to the State Government, Bukar Tijjani, the Head of Service, Mallam Fannami, and the Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, Professor Usman Tar.
