President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Retired Brigadier-General Lawal Isa, as Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education.
Isa replaces Sha’aban Sharada, who served as the commission’s pioneer leader since its creation in May 2023.
Retired Brigadier-General Isa was Military Administrator of Kaduna State from 1993 to 1996.
Similarly, the President has approved the appointment of Mrs. Zubaida Umar as the Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency.
She replaced Mustapha Ahmed whom former President Muhammadu Buhari appointed in May, 2021.
Both appointments were announced in a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.
The President anticipates that the new appointees will bring their vast experience into these important roles, which impact the very core of society.
