The federal government has revealed plans to flush out persons in public and private organisations working with fake certificates.
Minister of Education, Professor
Tahir Mamma, stated this when he received the report of an Inter-Ministerial
Investigative Committee on Degree Certificate Milling.
Mamman, who expressed sadness
over what was uncovered during the investigations, said the ministry would work
with relevant agencies to sanitise the education sector.
The minister vowed to take
decisive actions to ensure standards were enshrined in the education system of
the country.
Presenting the report, Chairman
of the inter-ministerial committee, Professor Jubrila Amin, decried the
horrible standard of education in those schools awarding degree certificates, recommending
that all agencies in the sector must digitize their systems for efficient
monitoring of happenings in all tertiary institutions.
