National Agency for the Control of AIDS to hold first HIV prevention conference.

National Agency for the Control of AIDS, NACA, the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS, and other development partners are set to hold the first HIV prevention conference.

NACA spokesperson, Toyin Aderibigbe, who stated this in a statement, noted that the conference would be held in May, 2024.

It said the three-day conference themed “Accelerating HIV prevention to end AIDS through innovations and community engagement” will showcase a diverse array of sessions, including dedicated tracks on youth empowerment, community engagement sessions, and leadership discussions among others.

It could be recalled that the Director General of NACA, Dr. Temitope Ilori, recently revealed that Nigeria has the highest burden of children born with HIV/AIDS in the world, and that there was a need for collaborative efforts to end the AIDS epidemic by 2030.
