NAFDAC trains manufacturers in Kaduna

In an effort to ensure that people have access to qualitative and hygienic foods, drugs and other products, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) North-West Zonal Office Kaduna, has organised a sensitisation workshop for stakeholders in the State.

Speaking at the event, North-West Zonal Director of NAFDAC, Mrs. Josephine Dayilim, said the workshop became necessary following the need to educate manufacturers on the processes for registering their products.

She urged the public to always ensure that that only purchase and use products that are registered with the agency.

Mrs. Dayalim  also called on the participants to embrace the responsibility of entrepreneurship to ensure their products meet NAFDAC Standard.

Also speaking, the Kaduna State NAFDAC coordinator Mr.  Nasiru Mato, said raw materials to be used for production activities need to be assessed by NAFDAC.

He said some food industries have substituted the use of sugar in their products with saccharin due to the hike in the price of sugar, noting that sugar is not healthy and could  cause cancer or other related health issues to consumers.

Participants at the workshop expressed satisfaction with the training adding that it has impacted their professional life.
