Climate Change; Kaduna state environment ministry collaborates NGO


Kaduna State Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources in collaboration with a Non-governmental Organization, Women Initiative for Sustainable Environment, WISE, has distributed clean energy cooking stoves to four hundred women in Kaduna.

The distribution exercise, held at Kaduna State Secretariat is part of efforts to reduce harmful emissions and combat the effects of climate change and desertification.

Speaking during the distribution exercise, the state Commissioner of Environment and Natural Resources, Alhaji Abubakar Buba, reaffirmed the state government's commitment to addressing challenges relating to environmental degradation.

Founding Director, WISE, Mrs. Olanike Daramola said the clean stove initiative will not only improve health outcomes but also reduce greenhouse gas emissions and support sustainable livelihoods.      

Some of the beneficiaries who appreciated the support, said it will go a long way in improving their health and reducing their cooking challenges.
