Zuru Emirate Council has described the late Colonel John Ekwebe Ubah, a Former Military Administrator of Kebbi State as a patriotic Nigerian who served his father land with utmost dedication.
The Emir of Zuru, Major General Muhammad Sani Sami retired stated this during the burial of the late Colonel John Ubah, held at the Brigade of Guards Military Cemetery, Lungi Barrack Abuja.
Late Colonel John Ikwebe Ubah who hailed from Benue State was the Administrator of Kebbi State during the military regime of General Sani Abacha from August, 1996 to 1998.
Speaking after the burial, the Emir of Zuru, Major General Muhammad Sani Sami retired, who was represented by a strong delegation led by the Wakilin Zuru of Kaduna state, Engineer Zubairu Kabir Danjuma, described late Colonel John as a hero to Nigeria.
In their condolence message to the family, the Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Musa and the Chief of Army Staff, Major General Toreed Lagbaja who was represented at the burial said the Nigerian Army has lost a hero who has laid a legacy that can never be forgotten.
Speaking on behalf of the grieving family, one of the sons to the deceased, Ubah Thomas Ubah, expressed appreciation to his Royal Highness the Emir of Zuru, Muhammad Sani Sami for sending a delegation to the burial of their beloved father.
The delegation of the Emir of Zuru led by the Wakilin Zuru of Kaduna state, Engineer Zubairu Kabir Danjuma, was accompanied by the Turakin Wakilin Zuru Kaduna, Dantani Dio, Sarkin Samarin Zurun Kaduna, Salisu Umar Salinga, and Dagacin Zurun Rafin Guza, Ibrahim Danjuma.
The body of late Colonel John Ikwebe Ubah has been laid to rest at the Brigade of Guards Military Cemetery Lungi Barrack Abuja.
