The Federal Government has disbursed over N1.8b to empower thirty-seven thousand women petty traders across the thirty-six states of the federation including and the FCT.
Speaking during the launch of the economic empowerment program in Kaduna, President Tinubu's wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu who stated this said the grant is part of efforts to cushion the economic hardship in the country.
She said the support aims to assist one thousand women petty traders across the thirty-six states in overcoming some of their business challenges.
The wife of the President who was represented by the Wife of the Deputy Senate President, Hajiya Laila Barau Jibril, pointed the significance of empowering women for the socio-economic development of any society.
On his part, the Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, represented by his Chief of Staff, Liman Sani Kila, appreciated the First Lady's commitment in improving the lives of the less privileged people especially women.
