Flooding: Jigawa state govt receives N20m support


Following the recent devastating flood in Jigawa state, N20 million has been donated to the state government to support relief efforts of the state.

The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru, made the donation when he visited the Jigawa state Governor, Umar Namadi to commiserate with him on the sad incident.

Director, Information and Public Relations, Ministry of Defence, Mr Henshaw Ogubike revealed this in a statement in Abuja.

According to Ogbuike, Badaru expressed his concern over the severe flooding incident, which has led to the destruction of lives and property including farmlands across the state.

He reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to assisting the state to overcome the challenge, noting that the donation was his personal gesture to support the state.

Badaru further appreciated governor Namadi for his swift response to the flood crisis.
