Protest: Yobe state gov relaxes curfew


Following the gradual improvement of the security situation after protest, Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has reviewed the 24-hour curfew imposed in Potiskum, Gashua, and Nguru local government areas.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Affairs, Brigadier General, Dahiru Abdulsalam (rtd), said the curfew is now relaxed from 12.00 PM and 5.00 PM for people to undertake their lawful activities with effects from Sunday, 4th August 2024.

It said security agencies are enjoined to maintain the current level of security alertness and ensure that no space is given to hoodlums and miscreants to perpetuate any act of lawlessness during the curfew relaxation period.

The statement urged law abiding citizens to carry out their lawful activities during the intervening period while the period between 5:00 PM to 12:00 NOON remains restricted.
