The Federal Government has promised to continue its support and intervention in the education of special needs learners to break the barrier to quality education in the country.
This was made known by the Executive Secretary of Universal Basic Education Commission, Dr Hamid Bobboyi, in Uyo Akwa Ibom State capital, during the capacity building workshop for selected teachers on the Inclusive Education Delivery Process.
Dr Bobboyi explained that two per cent of the Federal Government consolidated Revenue Fund dedicated as an intervention fund for the implementation of the UBE programme was allocated to special needs education.
The Executive Secretary of Universal Basic Education Commission also added that the commission has collaborated with private providers in its design and implementation of programme to meet the education needs of children.
