To eradicate poverty and unemployment in Kaduna state, Kaduna State Media Corporation KSMC, has offered support to young ginger farmers in Kaduna.
The Managing Director/CEO, KSMC, Alhaji Ahmad Maiyaki stated this in Kaduna, while delivering a speech during a one day sensitization workshop organized by the Christian Rural and Urban Development Association of Nigeria on the eradication of child labour and unfavorable working conditions for young ginger farmers in the state.
Alhaji Maiyaki who was the special guest at the event explained that the move is in line with Governor Uba Sani's agenda to eradicate poverty through agriculture and job creation, underscoring the need to render the support to the association.
Explaining the purpose of the event to newsmen, the chairman of the governing body, CRUDAN, Mr. Patrick Katuka said there is need to educate and enlighten ginger farmers in Kaduna state especially on the dangers of child abuse and unfavorable working conditions in order to boost ginger production in the state.
In a separate remark, the executive director of the association described the gesture by the Managing Director of the Kaduna State Media Corporation as a welcomed development, which he said will go a long way in helping the association achieve its goals.
