KDSG cautions residents in flood prone areas

In a bid to mitigate the effects of flooding, Kachia Local Government Council of Kaduna State has cautioned residents living close to the river banks and other flood prone area to vacate to safer grounds.

The Council Chairman, Mr. Aaron Bako made the plea when he received the Chief of Staff to the Kaduna state Government, Mohammed Sani Kila in his office in Kachia.

Mr Bako who expressed dissatisfaction over the attitudes of some of the people living in flood prone areas, warned that lack of adherence has led to the state government expending funds which would have been channeled to developing other areas in the state.

The council chairman thanked the Chief of Staff and the representative of the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency, (KADSEMA), Ayuka Shemang for visiting the local government to see the level of damage done in the area.

Earlier the Chief of Staff, Alhaji Mohammed Sani Kila emphasized the need for people to follow the advice given by Nigeria Meteorological Agency to avoid being victims of flooding.
