The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors, NARD has called on its members to resume work on Monday ( today) after embarking on a seven-day nationwide warning strike over the abduction of their colleague, Dr Ganiyat Popoola.
Speaking to newsmen on the development, the NARD President, Dr Dele Abdullahi, said, the suspension of the strike is to allow the association to review the Federal Government’s commitment to resolving its demand in the next three weeks.
He said the engagement with the government has been a little bit better, expressing optimism that they will sustain the current line of action.
It could be recalled that NARD began a seven-day warning strike last Monday to press for the rescue of Popoola, a registrar in the Department of Ophthalmology at the National Eye Centre, Kaduna.
