Kaduna state has significantly improved school attendance and enrolment rate due to the sustainability of a robust and effective school feeding program in Kaduna boarding schools.
Special Assistant to Governor Uba Sani on the School Feeding Program, Dr. Fauziya Buhari Ado, stated this during the median Food Vendors Award Day Presentation held in Kaduna.
Dr. Fauziya said to ensure the success of the school feeding programme, the Kaduna State Government has set new code of conduct that requires cooks to undergo medical checks, and set hygiene standards to ensure food safety.
She maintained that the initiative has paid-off as students in most of the schools are now enjoying healthy and nourishing meals, necessary for them to thrive in their academic endeavours.
Commending food vendors and teachers for their contributions towards the feat, the Special Assistant to the Governor assured of continuous commitment towards protecting the welfare of students studying at public schools for the benefits of the society.
Speaking on behalf of the Kaduna State Commissioner for Education, Professor Muhammad Sani Bello, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Rabi'u Yunusa urged the vendors to compliment the state government's efforts by sticking to the set standards.
