The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has warned bandits’ informants to repent or pay with their lives.
Speaking during an assessment visit to Gundumi village, Isa and Sabon Birni local government areas of Sokoto state, the minister expressed sadness over the low number of people in the areas.
He assured that a military base will be cited in the areas to improve the security of the locations.
Matawalle warned that acceptlists to bandits who undermine the activities of security operatives should desist henceforth.
Also, the minister, while speaking at the launch of “Operation Fansan Yamma” by the military called for public support, noting that the fight against insurgency is for all Nigerians that wish this country well.
He urged journalists to continue to report successes recorded by the military in the fight against banditry and insurgency citing the recent elimination of the notorious bandits’ kingpin, Halidu Sububu among others.
