In another development, the Kaduna State House of Assembly has passed A Bill for A Law for the Establishment of Magistrates Court and for other Purposes Related to the Administration of Justice in Kaduna State into Law.
This followed the adoption of a report on the bill before the floor of the house presided by the Deputy Speaker of the House, Barrister Danjuma Henry Magaji.
Presenting the report before the passage of the bill, the Chairman of the House Committee on Judiciary, Barrister Emmanuel Bako Kantiok said the Law presented a framework for the establishment of the courts, jurisdiction, working condition and entitlements upon retirement.
Speaking further after the passage of the bill into Law, Barrister Kantiok said the essence of the Law is to ensure that the administration of justice at the Magistrate level in Kaduna State has been taking care of.
The house has also received a petition by the member representing Jaba Constituency, Marah Henry Zachariah concerning the non-payment of the Local Government’s pensioners’ February 2021 pension.
The Lawmaker also said the pensioners in the Local Government usually go for monthly verification in Kafanchan, and appealed to the assembly to look into the issue considering the cost of transportation.
Meanwhile, the house has passed a bill for a Law to Provide for A Social Security Scheme in Kaduna State and for connected matters (Amendment) 2024.
The Bill was sponsored by the member representing Jema’a Constituency, Ali Kalat for second reading has been referred to the joint committee on Special Duties and Judiciary for in-depth study.
The House has equally passed for first reading A bill for a Law to make provision for women representation in Public and Private offices in Kaduna state 2024, sponsored by the member representing Lere East constituency, Munira Suleiman Tanimu.
Also passed for first reading is bill for a Law to establish the college of Agricultural Technology, Samaru Kataf 2024, sponsored by the member representing Zangon Kataf constituency, Hon. Kambai Samuel Kozah.
