Forty inmates regain freedom in Kaduna state

Forty out of the dense inmate population in Kaduna Correctional Center have regained freedom, courtesy of philanthropic gesture.

The selected inmates who are mostly youth below the age of forty have also received twenty thousand naira each as transport fare back to their respective homes.

After careful and thorough investigation and verification of each of the benefiting inmate's charges and fines across various courts in Kaduna, a team of contracted lawyers cleared and came up with a comprehensive list of forty to enjoy the gesture.

Barrister Zaid Umar led the team of the lawyers, after obtaining clearance and approval for the release of the inmates from the various courts.

Speaking earlier, Sheikh Yusuf Sambo Rigachikun admonished the freed inmates to be of good character henceforth and Change for the better.

Some of the freed inmates interviewed expressed gratitude for the gesture and described their release as a divine intervention that came through Alhaji Mahadi Shehu.
