KADSUBEB expands up new teaching methodology


Determined to enhance teachers' capacity for better Learning outcome, the Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board, KADSUBEB has scaled up a new teaching methodology to cover nine Local Government Areas across the three geopolitical zones of the state.

Acting Chairman of KADSUBEB, Mubarak Muhammad made this known while addressing head teachers and School Support Officers during a training on TaRL teaching methodology in Kaduna North LGA.

The TaRL method, which translate to Teaching at the Right level is a foundational literacy and numeracy teaching methodology that helps pupils learn how to read and write with ease.

Speaking, the Kaduna SUBEB acting chairman, Mubarak Muhammad said the training becomes imperative owning to the literacy gap among pupils in primary schools who could neither read nor write.

He explained that in using the TaRL methodology, primary four to primary six pupils are assessed and grouped by learning level rather than age or grade.

Also, the KADSUBEB permanent member, Human Resource, Christy Ayi Aladimare reiterated the board’s resolve to enhance teachers’ welfare in the state.

Speaking shortly after the program, the education secretary of Kaduna North local government, Hajiya Fatima Sani described the training as important and promised to ensure maximum support for its replication across schools in the area.

The training which is currently going on across six LGEAs of Igabi, Kaduna North, Zaria, Lere, Sanga and Jema'a is in respect to KADSUBEB determination to expand the use of the TaRL teaching method.
