NDLEA confiscates Europe bound drugs, arrests barons

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has intercepted attempts to export large consignments of cocaine, meth and opioids to the United Kingdom, Italy, Turkey and Qatar by drug syndicates.

Spokesperson of the agency, Femi Babafemi, in a statement said a businessman linked to the consignment, Ekeocha Nelson, was also tracked and arrested.

Babafemi said thirteen parcels of cocaine weighing 4.40kg going to the United Kingdom were intercepted by the NDLEA officers at the export shed of the Lagos airport.

He explained that among other successes recorded, the agency, following credible intelligence, recovered 1.8kg methamphetamine, 50,000 pills of tramadol, 563.74 kilograms of cannabis among others.
