Traditional councils in Kaduna state have been urged to support the Verbal and social autopsy programme recently launched across the twenty-three local government areas of the state.
The Federal Commissioner, National Population Commission Hajiya Sa’adatu Garba Dogon Bauchi made the call when the commission paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Zazzau in his palace.
She said the visit was to receive the blessings of the Royal father as the commission proceeds with the data capturing and its activities in the state.
The commissioner said no meaningful development can be achieved during the exercise without the support of the traditional councils of the state.
Dogon Bauchi assured the Emir of the commission’s readiness to work hand in hand with the council during and after the verbal and social autopsy as well as the fort coming national census to enable the commission have a reliable data.
Responding, the Emir of Zazzau Ambassador Nuhu Bamali thanked the commission for the visit and pledged the council’s support to enable them acquire reasonable data on children between the age of zero to five years.
