Kaduna State Media Corporation to launch its academy

Plans are underway by the Kaduna State Media Corporation to expand its operations through the launching of KSMC Media Academy. 

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation, Mallam Ahmed Maiyaki stated this during the corporation’s 2025 draft budget defence before the Kaduna State House of Assembly Committee on Information, Non-governmental Organisations and Development Partners.

The KSMC’s 2025 draft budget estimate of about five billion naira when approved, will signal a step in actualizing the vision of the corporation in becoming a world-class media organisation through the completion of the new KSMC building.

Speaking shortly after the presentation of the corporation’s 2025 draft budget estimate, Ahmed Maiyaki who also revealed the launching of KSMC website with a link to all the five radio stations and other features, said the KSMC Media Academy when launched will be used in the training of people on areas that will create jobs for them.

Ahmed Maiyaki also explained that the 2025 budget will be channeled to key priority areas that will help in the improvement of the corporation's operations as well as improving the welfare of the staff.

On his part, the Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Non-governmental organisations and Development Partners, Marah Henry Zachariah appreciated what KSMC is already doing in terms of content and maintaining a conducive working environment.

Marah Henry who also appreciated the effort of the Kaduna State Government in ensuring that the media organisation achieved its mission and vision of becoming a leading media organisation in Africa, also called on the management of KSMC to explore ways of generating more revenue.
