Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris has assented to the states' N580.32bn 2025 budget.
The governor signed the budget after a slight adjustment to the capital and recurrent expenditures by the state House of Assembly.
While signing the budget at the Government House Chamber in Birnin Kebbi, Governor Idris said his administration will follow the budget processes, allocation and all other provisions.
He affirmed his commitment to transparency and accountability in the implementation of the budget for impactful service delivery.
Governor Idris added that the government would carry the budget implementation to the grassroots to enable rural dwellers feel its impacts.
Similarly, Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has signed the 2025 Appropriation Bill of N467 billion into law.
The budget was passed by the State House of Assembly after an upward adjustment of N2 billion from the initial N465 billion proposed by the governor on November 21, 2024.
While presenting the revised budget at the Banquet Hall of the Government House on Friday, the Speaker of the House, Suleiman Abubakar, noted that the adjustment was to ensure the budget met the needs of the people and addressed critical areas of development.
In another development, Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has signed into law a budget of N750,282, 200,000 for the 2025 fiscal year, as passed into law by the Abia State House of Assembly.
Signing the appropriation bill on Friday, Governor Otti commended the lawmakers for giving the bill an accelerated hearing and passage, saying that the budget would empower his administration to deliver more quality services.
He noted that he dedicated about 82 per cent of the total budget to capital expenditure and 18 per cent to recurrent expenditure, despite the challenges of higher wages occasioned by the implementation of the new national minimum wage and regular payment of pensions.
