Dangote Refinery

The recent reduction of fuel prices by Dangote Refinery has been described as a timely economic relief for Nigerians.

Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC Chairman for Lagos Council, Funmi Sessi, who stated this while speaking with journalists said the refinery’s operation has come at the right time.

Sessi expressed optimism that the move would ease transportation costs, lower the prices of goods and services, and provide financial relief to citizens struggling with the current inflation in the country.

She said the commencement of production by the Dangote Refinery with about 650,000 barrels per day, have significantly controlled oil importation by the government.

While emphasizing the need for the government to encourage Dangote and other players in the oil sector to foster healthy competition, the NLC Lagos Council Chairman also noted that the National Assembly is working on a bill to encourage the domestic use of our currency in oil transactions.

On the proposed 2025 budget, Sessi said that if the Federal Government strictly implements it, there is hope for the nation’s economic revival.
