About 52 colleges and schools of health are not licensed to teach community health in Kaduna.
The Registrar, Community Health Practitioners' Registration Board of Nigeria, Alhaji Bashir Idris Lifidin Jama'a stated this during an interview with newsmen in Kaduna.
He said the board is working with the Ministry of Health and other relevant authorities like the EFCC and the police to clamp down on these schools that offer community health courses without approval from the board.
While congratulating the governor of Kaduna state for his giant stride in the health sector, the registrar called on the governor to rid Kaduna State of these fake schools that keep breeding quack community health workers in the state.c
According to the registrar, majority of the workforce in the various primary healthcare centres across the twenty three local governments in the state are products of these unauthorized schools and colleges.
Bashir Idris urged parents and students who wish to register for community health courses to verify the accreditation status of the schools before enrolling in them.
