Some bandits terrorizing communities in Chikun Local Government area of Kaduna State have surrendered to the authority.
The Council Chairman, Engineer Salasi Nuhu Musa received the repentant bandit group during a meeting with the district head of Gwargwada and other community leaders held at the rehabilitation center in Sabon Tasha, Kaduna.
One of the leaders of the repentant bandits, Alhaji Layi who used to operate within Kuriga-Udawa axis assured the Council Chairman and Kaduna State residents of their intention to welcomed Governor Uba Sani's peace and reconciliation initiative.
Presenting the repentant to the Council Chairman, the District Head of Gwargwada, Alhaji Shitu Abdullahi expressed gratitude to Almighty God for the development, saying it giant stride in addressing the security challenges in the area.
On his part, the Council Chairman, Engineer Salasi Nuhu Musa described the decision of the repentant bandits as a huge success to the ongoing peace and reconciliation Initiative of Governor Uba Sani which is aimed at ensuring peace across the state.
He pledged to ensure normalcy returns to the area by reopening schools, engaging volunteer teachers within the communities and provide farming inputs to the people.
