The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s agricultural infrastructure to drive food security.
Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari, stated this while commissioning some projects under the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria in Abuja.
Speaking during the launching, the minister reiterated the government’s commitment to climate-smart agricultural practices, to ensuring the availability of viable seeds, and to strengthening agricultural education.
On his part, the Executive-secretary of Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria, Professor Garba Sharubutu, expressed gratitude to the ministry for its continued support and leadership.
He noted that the newly inaugurated facilities will contribute significantly to agricultural research, disease surveillance and capacity building for young farmers and researchers.
