Zamfara state government has banned all political activities or rallies in the state.
The state Governor, Dauda Lawal, who gave the directive said the decision came considering the recent security breach in Maru Local Government Area of the State.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Broadcast, Media and Public Affairs, Mustapha Jafaru Kaura, and made available to newsmen in Gusau, the State capital.
According to the statement, the political season has not started anywhere in the country, adding that the ban is with immediate effect.
He said security agencies in the State have been directed to crackdown on politicians that fail to comply with the directives.
