Ahead of third term school resumption across primary and secondary schools in Kaduna State, Chikun Local Government Council has distributed free exercise books to two hundred and fifty five primary schools across the twelve wards of the area.
The Council Chairman, Engineer Salasi Nuhu Musa, who lunched the distribution of the free exercise books at the Council Secretariat in Kujama, said the gesture is inline with his administration's commitment to improve the efficiency of the education sector in the area.
He explained that the aim of the exercise is to support schools and pupils across the area by providing them with the necessary teaching and learning materials as they prepare to resume for the third term of the 2024/2025 academic year.
Engineer Salasi Nuhu Musa also charged the education department to ensure that the books reach the targeted pupils for the progress of education in the area.
Receiving the ten thousand copies of exercise books on behalf of the Education Secretary, the Director, Education and Social Development, Mrs Ruth Markus, thanked the Council Chairman for his effort and promised to ensure fair distribution of the exercise books.
The distribution of the free exercise books will also reduce the expenses incurred by parents in buying learning materials for their children when schools resume.
