FG to launch e-visa by May, 2025

All plans are on deck by the Federal Government to implement the new electronic visa (e-visa), introduction of the automated landing and exit card which takes effect from May, first, twenty twenty-five.

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, who disclosed this to newsmen in Abuja explained that the purpose is for the country’s security and record management solution adding that the exit and landing card are free and will be processed online.

Also, the Minister of Interior, Tunji Ojo said the e-visa system is expected to streamline the application process for tourists, business travelers, and other eligible visitors seeking entry into Nigeria for short stays. 

Ojo said the online platform will allow applicants to complete their visa forms, upload necessary documents such as passports, return tickets, and hotel reservations, and make secure payments.

He explained that the e-visa will make it easier for people to come into Nigeria while enhancing the country’s revenue, adding that applications will be online.
