Kajuru and Zangon Kataf Local Government areas of Kaduna state have reaffirmed their commitments towards strengthening working relationships in the area of irrigation farming and other agricultural activities.
This was the resolution reached when the Council Chairman of Zango Kataf, Engineer Joseph Bege Gayya paid a Courtesy visit to his counterpart, Mr Dauda Madaki in his office at the Council secretariat in Kajuru.
Speaking during the visit, the Chairman of Zangon Kataf local Government Council, Engineer Joseph Bege Gayya highlighted the need to leverage the potentials of Kufana Dam for irrigation farming to boost the economic activities of the area.
He said the dam could be used to help farmers cultivate tomatoes, pepper, and onions among other crops, pointing that millions of naira were generated using the same method in his local government.
Engineer Bege Gayya also enjoined members of staff, the ten wards Councilors and the entire people of Kajuru Local Government areas to support the Uba Sani led administration and Mr Dauda Madaki to continue benefiting from the dividend of Democracy.
On his part, the Chairman of Kajuru Local Government Council, Mr Dauda Madaki, thanked Engineer Joseph Bege Gayya for the visit, assuring his council's readiness in supporting any initiative aimed at enhancing the agricultural sector of the area.
Mr Madaki also promised to initiate programs and policies that will boost farming activities across the local government area.
Some Councilors who spoke during the visit, expressed their gratitude to Engineer Joseph Bege Gayya for his visit and promised to use his advice for the progress of the local Government.
Meanwhile, the two Council Chairmen promised to organized workshops that will further improve the working relationship between Zangon Kataf and Kajuru legislative Councils for greater productivity.
