KDSG moves to control greenhouse emissions

The Kaduna State Government is partnering with Tourba, experts in carbon agriculture, to control greenhouse emissions and enhance agricultural output in the state.

Kaduna State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Dr Abubakar Buba, made this known while addressing newsmen at a stakeholder consultation on carbon farming in Kaduna.

The Commissioner who was represented by the Ministry's Permanent Secretary, Linda Asabat Yakubu said the project coincides with the Kaduna State Government's drive to improve food security and address issues relating to climate change.

He assured that the State Government would support the project by providing an enabling environment to ensure its effective implementation to enable the state harnessed its full potential in the agricultural sector.

Speaking on behalf of the Tourba project, the country manager, Okpeoluwa Filani, described the stakeholder engagement as necessary to ensure that the farmers engaged by Federal, State, and Local Governments understand the initiative for maximum benefits.
